The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a clearly stated tagline on its website: Protecting and Promoting Your Health. However, the agency seems to be failing its duties and serving industry interests instead. The FDA is keeping silent about details that could help us better understand the link between antibiotic use in industrial animal agriculture and the increase of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that have made human illnesses more dangerous and difficult to treat.
FIC has taken every action possible, including filing a lawsuit against the FDA, to bring this tightly held information to the public and into the hands of researchers who can use it to address public health concerns associated with the issue.Full Story
